 Significance of Ganesh Chaturthi

Like the story or story of other gods and goddesses, the story of Ganesh Ji is also very interesting and inspirational. Let us know about the same in detail today.

Once Mata Parvati was going to take a bath. Then he made an effigy from the filth of his body to guard the door. And putting life in it gave the form of a beautiful child. Mother Parvati tells the child that I am going to take a bath, you should stand at the door and do not allow anyone to enter the door without my permission. Having said this, Mother Parvati, standing at the door, goes to take a bath.

That child is guarding the door when Lord Shankar Ji comes there and as soon as he was about to go inside, that child stops him there. Lord Shankar ji asks that child to get out of his way but that child, following the orders of Mother Parvati, prevents Lord Shankar from entering inside. Due to which Lord Shankar gets angry and takes out his trident in anger and separates the child’s neck from the trunk.

When Mother Parvati comes out after hearing the painful voice of the child, she becomes very sad to see the severed head of that child. The Lord tells Shankar that he was a child made by her who was following his orders. And mother Parvati asks him to revive her son.

Then Lord Shankar orders his servants to go to the earth and bring the head of the child whose mother is sleeping with her back to her child. When the servants leave, they see a baby elephant. Whose mother is sleeping with her back on his side? The servants bring the elephant’s baby’s head off.

Then Lord Shankar Ji, by putting the head of that elephant in place of the head of that child, revives him. Lord Shankar ji declares that child as the lord of all his Ganas. Since then the name of that child is given as Ganapati.

Along with this, Lord Shankar also gives such a boon to Ganpati that he will be worshipped first among the deities. That is why he is worshipped first. It is believed that no work is complete without his worship.

Ganesh Chaturthi  Vrat Story

There was a very poor old lady. She was also blind. He had a son and a daughter-in-law. The old lady used to worship Ganesh Ji regularly. Pleased with her devotion, one day Ganesh Ji appeared and said to the old lady-

Old mother! You can ask for whatever you want. I will fulfil your wish.

Ganeshji says that ask your son and daughter-in-law and ask for something.

Then the old lady goes to ask her son. And after telling the whole thing to the son, she asks what should I ask for the son. The son says that mother, you should ask for money. After that, when she asks the daughter-in-law, the daughter-in-law asks to ask for a grandson.

Then the old lady thought that all of them are asking to ask for things of their own meaning. Then she goes to ask her neighbours, then the neighbour says, old lady, you will live for a few more days, why should you ask for money and why should you ask for grandchildren. You should ask for the light of your eyes so that your life can be cut easily.

After much deliberation, the old lady said to Ganesh Ji – If you are happy, then give me nine crores of illusion, give me a healthy body, give immortal honey, give eyesight, grandson, grandson, and give happiness to all the family. And finally, give salvation.’

Hearing this, Ganesha said – Old mother! You have asked for everything. Still, whatever you have asked for, you will get everything according to the promise. And saying this Ganeshji disappears. Whatever the old mother asked for, she got it.

Oh, Lord Ganesha! Just like you gave everything to that old mother, give it to everyone.
